The postman (who we'll call Karl (I've an arrangement with a him, I get all my shit posted to his house in the North and he brings it into work for me. Saves an absolute fortune on "Rip-Off" postage charges to Ireland)) dropped a brown box on the desk this morning.... Deutsche Post, had me wondering, I've ordered so much shit recently, not a lot from Germany though.
Yeah baby, remote lockout damper for Rockshox Recon Gold/Reba/Sid and some other random one (the Red for those reading in colour). Seeing as this is hopefully going to be my uber light XC Race bike for 2015 I thought it necessary to attempt to keep the hands on the bars at all times (except when wiping snot from my nose of course) nothing worse than looking down for the lock/unlock turnkey at an inappropriate moment. Hence me sourcing the motion control damper and remote lockout. £15 off Ebay, sure to buy a poplock alone (see pic below) from SRAM/Rockshox is €47
Now the remote cable is very clunky and not what I'd expected, it's not exactly a thumb operated lever (actually forefinger and thumb push/pull operated, but has a nice cable adjust similar to a gear shift). However, I did keep hold of a Poplock Sprint (see pic below) from the first Full Sus bike that I owned (for once "that bit, I'll have a use for that some day" actually came true)
Now to find a 24mm 6 sided socket with flat faces, that'll probably be harder to source than the remote lockout/damper. Until the next update.
